Meditation in the Psalms

Psalm 66:10-15

David continues his words of praise, but this time refers to
what the children of Israel went through in the past, and the
need of bringing offerings of praise and worship to the Lord.
He says “I will pay Thee my vows.” Many of us fail to see what
God desires. He wants our worship and our praise.

1. The proving of God’s children - verses 10-11
2. The places of affliction through which God brought His people - verse 12
3. The paying of vows in time of trouble - verses 13-14
4. The plan to sacrifice and worship the Lord - verse 15

We make commitments to the Lord when we are in trouble,
and then after the Lord’s deliverance and help, forget what we
had promised. Have you made such a commitment in the past,
and failed to follow through?

Verse for Meditation

Verse 10 - “For Thou, O God, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”

Meditation Prayer

“I desire to keep my promises to You, O Lord, and to do what I said I would do.”
